The underlying difference is that one is a prophet – a great one at that; and the other, the Son of God! Denis Johnson's Jesus' Son: Stories (1992), for me, is as close to being high on dope that one can become from merely ingesting words and sentences and paragraphs through one's eyes and, if read aloud, ears. I have had Johnson's story collection (connected story collection, that is) Jesus' Son (1992) on my shelf for a long time. Jesus could directly command the dead man to get up.
